Melbourne, and deeper into AI
Moved to Melbourne with my two boys and leaned further into AI, expanding into augmented AI workflows and the craft of AI evaluation and iteration.
Still the kid chasing cool things, just with much sharper tools.
The short version lives on my CV. It runs newest first, so the further you scroll, the more personal it gets.

Joined pAI Squared and led design on Te Heke Mai, an AI career platform, owning the prompt engineering alongside the UX.
Where design and AI stopped being two separate skills for me.
Began mentoring junior UX designers on the side with Mission Ready, the kind of guidance I'd have loved earlier in my own career.
Joined Valocity as a Senior Designer, worked with and mentored two junior designers, and built a design system adopted across four product teams in New Zealand, Australia, and India.
At Qirous, I built my first ever design system for our client Spark IoT, and designed a brand new dashboard for their users.
Started at EMA, where I shaped the member conference experience for one of New Zealand's largest industry bodies.
Completed a UX bootcamp, redesigned a mental wellbeing app, and designed The Re-Creator, an upcycling marketplace, from the ground up.
Turns out UX wasn't much of a stretch for a designer and artist.
Back to design, but digital this time: brand identities, landing pages, emails, and the first time I heard people talk about this thing called UX.
Spent three years on a Creative Technologies degree chasing life as an emerging artist, exploring the boundary between viewer and digital art, and exhibiting a range of installations.
The seed of everything I now call UX: learning to design for the person on the other side.
Started my career as a graphic designer doing newspapers, magazines, business cards, and every kind of printed thing, becoming an Adobe Suite master and a relentless pixel perfector along the way.
Finished high school, started a Commerce degree, then bailed in second year because it wasn't me, and switched to a year of communication design to chase the dream of making cool things.
The first time I chose what I loved over what was sensible.
Moved from China to New Zealand on my own to study, a long way from home and the start of everything that followed.
Born in China, dreaming of being a scientist or inventor. Really, just someone who wanted to make cool things.
That dream never changed. Design simply became how I make them.
They're a tough audience, but they keep coming back for seconds.
